Don Levine, DPT, FAFS

Co-Owner OPT Physical Therapy / OPT Core Orthotics

Don Levine earned his  Master of Science degree  in Physical Therapy from The University of Rhode Island in 1992 and completed a fellowship with the Gray Institute for Functional Training in Applied Functional Science in November of 2007. He further expanded his education by completing a Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree in 2010,  which included a focus in Executive Management.  He continues yearly to complete extensive continuing education in the biomechanics of sport and the business of Physical Therapy.

Don specializes in sports medicine related cases and he and the practice lead the state in the treatment and prevention of shouder and elbow injuries in the throwing athlete. He has developed baseball specific conditioning programs and preseason pitching screens for both baseball and softball athletes. Don routinely  provides medical services at local sports tournaments and competitions and has worked with youth through professional athletes in both injury prevention and conditioning programs. He provides the aquatic physical therapy services for OPT.

Don has served as a guest lecturer for the APTA, the YMCA, NUWC as well as CCRI and URI. He continues to be active at the state and national levels in his professional associations. He serves on the National level as the APTA Private Practice Section’s Committee Chair for the Marketing and Public Relations Committee. Don also serves as the Vice President of the RI Physical Therapy Private Practice Group, as the Legislative Chair for the RI APTA and on the RI Licensure Board of Physical Therapy . In 2005 Don was honored with the Outstanding Alumni Award from the URI PT program and was also the recipient of the Distinguished Service Award from the RI Physical Therapy Association.

Don is active with his wife and three children in his community, serving on boards, assisting with strength and conditioning programs and cheering on the sidelines (occasionally too loudly).

Amy Simmons, DPT, MS

Amy graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education/Health and in 2005 with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy. She earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Simmons College in Boston, MA in December of 2007. She has completed additional course work in head injury and concussion treatment/management from Harvard Med and Boston University, in Functional Rehabilitation from the Kinetic Chain/Gray Institute, and in Lumbopelvic Integration from IMTS.

Amy especially enjoys the treatment of sports related injuries and post-surgical athletes.  She provides the on-site physical therapy services for Roger Williams University in their Athletic Training Room where she works with both athletes and the general student population. Amy works with area high school and youth athletic programs in the provision of warm-up and injury prevention programs. She serves as the director of OPT’s Total Athletic Performance Summer Conditioning Camp.

Amy routinely serves as a member of the Boston Marathon Medical team and has past participation on both the Marine Corps Marathon and Cape Cod Marathon Teams. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, as well as the Sports Section of the APTA. She has past service as the Programming Chair for the RIAPTA Board of Directors, on the East Bay Chamber of Commerce Business and Community Relations Committee as well as the Bayside YMCA Membership and Program Development Committee.

In her free time Amy serves as a Coach with the Nor’Easter Soccer Club. She enjoys backpacking, skiing, weight training and everything soccer related. She is a lifelong resident of Little Compton where she resides with her husband.

William Campion III, PT, DPT

Will earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in May of 2011 from Utica College. He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice / Economic Crime Investigation earned in May of 2005. He brings to OPT a strong interest in functional exercise and evaluation as well as a focus in strength and conditioning. He has extensive experience in gait evaluation and ankle and foot biomechanics.

In his free time Will enjoys working out using components of the Cross-Fit program, as well as sailboat racing.

Kyra Little, PTA

Kyra graduated from the Community College of Rhode Island with an Associates Degree in Health Science. She is licensed by the state of Rhode Island as a Physical Therapist Assistant. Kyra runs and designs OPT Bristol’s Senior Challenge Exercise Class and has been instrumental in treating both on-site in the clinic as well as at Roger Williams University. She has experience in both pediatric and adult physical therapy, aquatic physical therapy interventions and especially enjoys designing conditioning programs for both adults and youth. Kyra currently runs OPT Bristol’s Senior Challenge Exercise Class.

 

Lorraine Stanzione

Reception and Scheduling

Lorraine brings over 41 years of experience in the administrative field to the OPT team. Her expertise in customer service and organizational skills are a definite asset in front office.

Timothy O’Brien, LATC

Tim graduated in 2012 from Quinnipiac University with a bachelors Degree in Athletic Training. He currently serves on-site in both the OPT Bristol & Warren offices and is employed as the Club Sports Athletic Training at Roger Williams University.
