William Poirier, PT

Clinic Director, OPT Tiverton

William brings 20 years of experience as a Physical Therapist to OPT. He received his degree in physical therapy from Boston University in 1984 graduating cum laude. He has worked in inpatient and outpatient settings, specializing in orthopedic, sports medicine rehabilitation, biomechanics, and mechanical low back pain.

Denise Deleone, PTA

Denise has been employed with OPT since August 2001, starting at the Valley Rd. location and then following the company as they moved to the Aquidneck Ave location. Denise began splitting her time between the Middletown and Tiverton locations in 2003. Denise now works exclusively in Tiverton. She earned her Physical Therapist Assistant degree from CCRI in 2001 and is also a certified practicing personal trainer.

Natasha Sorrentino, PTA

Natasha graduated from CCRI in May 2010 with honors, earning her designation as a PTA. She  worked in pediatrics for a year and a half and then joined the OPT team.

Mary Doherty

Jared Smith, DPT

Jared graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2015 with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. In 2012, he graduated from UConn with a Bachelor’s degree in Allied Health Sciences. While at UConn, Jared gained experience working with a variety of patients in the orthopedic, acute and short term neurological rehabilitation settings. As a physical therapy student, he completed a clinical rotation at the OPT Wakefield location sparking a strong interest in functional chain reaction biomechanics. Jared also has experience performing physical therapy techniques in short and long term rehabilitation facilities and works well with geriatric population. He lives an active lifestyle enjoying hiking and weightlifting and believes in using exercise to promote a high quality of life at all ages and abilities. As a therapist Jared believes in using a hands on approach combined with a customized functional exercise program to help patients to return to their favorite activities. He completed continuing education for Applied Chain Reaction Biomechanics and certification in Applied Functional Science and currently performs Dry Needling to alleviate musculoskeletal pain and improve function.

 

Natasha Sorrentino, PTA

Natasha graduated with honors as a Physical Therapist Assistant from the Community College of RI in 2010 and is licensed by the state of Rhode Island. Her clinical rotations included advanced training in outpatient/sports injury, assisting with volunteer sports conditioning camps, skilled nursing facilities, and pediatrics. Prior to joining the OPT team, she had worked in pediatrics for almost two years working with congenital disorders and developmental delays. Natasha enjoys providing an overall functional approach to her patients with focus on the biomechanical chain in order to restore strength, mobility, performance and injury prevention.  Natasha began splitting her time between the Middletown and Tiverton locations. She provided aquatic physical therapy services for OPT in Middletown before joining the Tiverton OPT full time.  Natasha enjoys traveling, horseback riding, hiking and swimming in her free time.
