OPT Leading the Way with Sports Conditioning

By breid

OPT is on site at Middletown HS again this year.  Shown here are the teams working on the pre-practice strength and conditioning routine.  Based on their Fellowship Training for Advanced Kinetic Chain Biomechanics, the OPT program applies to both improving performance as well as injury prevention.   The program has facets of power, endurance, agility and speed, and also a component of ACL injury prevention.  The days of touching your toes and then taking two laps around the gym are gone.   These kinds of programs are developmental and progressive, and the player becomes a better athlete by using basketball-related skills in their conditioning.  For help with enhancing your HS sports conditioning programs, contact OPT for this community-based complimentary service.
