Staff Training with Dr. David Tiberio, Ph.D., OCS

By admin

Earlier this week the full clinical staff at OPT underwent another training inservice.  David Tiberio, Ph.D., OCS, was on hand once again to share principles and strategies of Applied Functional Biomechanics.  Dr. Tiberio is the Dean of the Gray Institute’s G.I.F.T. Advanced Biomechanics Fellowship.  He is also currently conducting NikeGolf seminars that he developed with the Gray Institute alongside Gary Gray, P.T., the noted “Father of Function” in rehab medicine.

On this day Dr. Tiberio discussed strategies for rehab involving developing functional range of motion and then pairing the motion with the essential stability (strength).  A sound rehab program that is rooted in evidence and outcome study must contain these elements for maximizing success.  After spending 26 years at the helm of the UConn P.T. program, David is now busier than ever…a testimony to his status as a National Leader in the field of Biomechanics.  OPT is thankful and feels fortunate to learn from the distinguished Dr. Tiberio, an old friend who has helped our staff on many, many occasions.
